Awesome Rainbow Day
Our Awesome Rainbow Day on 11 June was a big hit in the Overstrand, and hundreds turned out to get their faces painted in support of the Hermanus Rainbow Trust (and of course Bafana Bafana). Our face painters were stationed outside the major shopping areas in Hermanus, Kleinmond and Stanford. Participants paid R10 to hafve their faces painted for this great cause.
Many local businesses also took part in the event and sponsored their staff to have their faces painted. We would like to thank the following businesses for their support:

In addition to the face-painting that happened around the overstrand, the Trust put together a Soccer Extravaganza at the Village Green in Stanford. This event gave children from the ages of 3-12 years the opportunity to get free soccer coaching after they have had their faces painted at the venue. There was also diski dancing lessons, food and drinks for sale, pony rides and flag-making workshops. The highlight of the Stanford event was the five-a-side soccer competition between corporate, social, and community teams. A huge thank you must go the Football Foundation of South Africa, which provided the coaches and soccer know-how to pull of all the matches! In the end, Stanford Hills won the corporate event, and were treated to a full meal at one of Stanford's restaurants, La Finestra.
