Monitoring & Evaluation
The monitoring and evaluation of programmes and services is one of the most vital components of social service delivery, and is essential to determining whether services have been effective and efficient. We need to know exactly who is benefitting from our services and what quality of impacts our programmes are having. It is only through knowing this that we are able to determine whether or not we have met our objectives and whether or not our programmes can justify receiving funding from donors. Through this process of constantly reviewing and improving programmes, the Trust is able to ensure that beneficiaries receive the best quality services possible.
The Hermanus Rainbow Trust has committed itself to continuously refine and improve its mechanisms and systems that enable programme data to be captured and analysed. Data analysis and data capturing systems for our social and education programmes had been sorely neglected at the Trust until recently, but in late 2009 these systems underwent a significant overhaul. These changes and refinements will enable us to gather a complete picture of our specific and overall effectiveness, as we strive to carry out our mission in the most efficient ways possible.
